How to Apply
We have an application process in order to more quickly identify whether or not we are able to meet your needs. We only agree to provide tutoring for those we believe we would be able to help. Computer Science is a vast field with many different subfields. If we are able to provide tutoring that would fit you needs, we will attempt to schedule you. If we determine that your needs are outside of the scope of our services, we may be able to provide some advice.
The best way to apply is to complete the form below and push the "Send" button. This will open up your email application and fill an email with the information you have provided. The email will be filled with parameters. Complete sending the email to us with your email app. It is best to add no additional information to the email as we will process it programmatically.
If you are unable to send us a request using the form below, you may email us directly. To request tutoring in computer science via an email you write yourself, it is important to use the subject line: "Request Computer Science Tutoring". If you choose this path, please include your name, telephone number, a description of what you need, and some information about your computer science skills.
We operate internationally. Consequently, we prefer all telephone conversations to be made using the WhatsApp application. If you do not have WhatsApp on your smartphone, for Android you can download it from Google Play; and for Apple you can download it from Apple App Store. There are other options which we can discuss by email if necessary.
First Contact
After receiving your email, we will evaluate your request, and then respond. If your application is accepted, we will schedule either a voice call or video call to gather additional information. This is initial conversation is free of charge. During that conversation, we will work with you to determine a schedule, method of payment, etc.
Gathering Tools to Help You
If you are seeking tutoring for a course, it may be necessary to share information about the course with your tutor. For example, if there are assignments for which you need coaching, your tutor may need to see the text of the assignment. Your tutor may need to know which IDE you are using to write your programs for the assignment. Your tutor may request that you share text from your classroom textbook. All of this may be necessary to assist you. It is in your best interest to share these materials with your tutor before a session begins. If your tutor finds it necessary, your tutor may look over this information before the session. This will save you time.
How Sessions are Conducted
All sessions involve real-time communication. The medium of communication will be agreed upon by both yourself and your tutor. For discussions about assignments, Zoom, WhatsApp, or another video communication tool may be used. Instruction may also be conducted by means of these tools. Additionally, screen sharing may be employed. This is especially true when the student needs help on an assignment. At times, both may be used simultaneously.
Depending upon your circumstances, creative combinations of apps can be used. For example, voice communication may be made via smartphone while a screen is shared between your computer and your tutor's computer. Sometimes using two devices in this manner provides better and faster communication.
While it is not required, it is best if you use headphones or earbuds while you are in session with your tutor. This makes communication easier and faster.
